What do I need to get a library card?

Library Cards Library cards are available to and free to all San Miguel County residents, employees, seasonal workers and Colorado residents who are library cardholders at their local libraries. Guests to the area may get a library card for a $10 fee.

To get a card:

  1. A photo identification

AND

  1. Current address (if not shown on photo identification): or
  2. Present a valid library card from another library in the state of Colorado

Guest Card: If you are visiting the Telluride area for a short period of time a Guest Card may be purchased for $10. The Guest Library Card is valid for one year.

Minors A parent or guardian’s signature is required to issue a library card to a patron under the age of 14. Children under the age of 8 must have a parent/guardian present to obtain a library card.

Teacher Card: Teachers employed by accredited schools within the library district service area may request a Teachers Card. Items checked out on a Teachers Card circulate for 6 weeks and do not accrue overdue fines.

Replacement Card: There will be no charge for replacement library cards.
